More than Gold

More Than Gold was created in 1996 to help local churches develop partnerships to serve events. In 2007, More Than Gold was launched in Britain in the presence of Lord Coe, Tessa Jowell MP, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor and Archbishop Rowan Williams.

More Than Gold is specially known because of the engage of the Britain’s Christian communities for the London 2012 Games in the hope that churches will taste the excitement of reaching their wider communities in fresh and ongoing ways in Jesus’ name.

More Than Gold now concentrates its efforts on 3 specific ways of making the most of the 2014 Commonwealth Games: community engagement, hospitality and service.
