On 14 and 15 July, the senior staff of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and the Youth Section had a meeting with members of the Local Organizing Committee (COL) for World Youth Day Krakow 2016. Among the participants at the meeting there was the auxiliary bishop of Krakow and general coordinator of the COL, Bishop Damian Muskus, and the new secretary-general, Rev. Grzegorz Suchodolski. During the two days of intense work several issues were addressed concerning the pastoral preparation and logistics of the event. On the afternoon of 14 July, the Italian Civil Protection Department came to give a presentation on their work during World Youth Day 2000 in Rome and some gatherings of young Italians and Europeans. It gave helpful guidelines for the logistical preparations for WYD 2016 in Poland.
