A hundred years after the beginning of World War I, young people launch a strong appeal for peace

04

On June 28, 2014 World War One started, enkindled by the assassination of the heir to the throne of the Austro-Hungarian empire.

A hundred years after, Europe and the whole world look at Sarajevo, Bosnia’s capitol, to remind that tragic event.

During the month of July the John Paul II Centre (of Sarajevo) organized a meeting for young people coming from 15  European countries to reflect and talk about peace, unity, democracy and reconciliation.  On July 31st the young people presented a musical: Streetlight, the fruit of their working together.

His Eminence Cardinal Stanisław Riłko sent a message for the occasion: Message from Cardinal Stanisław Ryłko to the participants in the "Go4peace" project, being held at the John Paul II Center in Sarajevo.
