On last Wednesday morning, June 5, the President of the Pontifical Council for the Laity, His Eminence Cardinal Stanislaw Rylko received the members of the steering committee of “Together for Europe”. The participants were Maria Voce, Eli Folonari, Gabri Fallacara, Clara Squarzon, Severin Schmid (Focolare Movement); Michelle Moran (International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services); Heinrich Walter (Apostolic Movement of Schönstatt); Gérard Testard (Fondacio Chrétiens pour le monde), and Marco lmpagliazzo, Valeria Martano, Cesare Zucconi (Community of Saint Egidio).

The Committee met in Rome for a moment of common reflection on their programs and future projects, thus to present them to the Cardinal.

The President of the Dicastery confirmed his personal appreciation for the initiative, whose last event took place in May 2012 in Bruxelles and simultaneously live in other 152 European cities. He said that it was a witness to the world, particularly to Europe, of how much men and women- transformed by God, renewed and united-may influence society. He also underlined the ecumenical character of the event.

A future meeting will take place at Montmartre (Paris). It will see the participation of the « Friends of Together for Europe », that is the people in charge of movements and new communities of the various Churches that accompany and support the initiative. A fourth International event of “Together for Europe” is being programmed by this ‘net’ strongly united in living together the Gospel.
