This morning, 5th July 2013, the Holy Father Pope Francis received Cardinal Angelo Amato, S.D.B, Prefect of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, in a private audience. During the course of the audience, the Holy Father authorised the Congregation to promulgate the Decree regarding, among others, the miracle attributed to the intercession of Blessed John Paul II. At the same time he approved the vote of the Ordinary Session of the Cardinals and Bishops in favour of the canonisation of Blessed John XXII. He has decided to convoke a Consistory which will also be concerned with the canonisation of Blessed John Paul II.

Therefore two Popes of our time will be saints, whom we cannot recall without remembering their great commitment to the apostolate of the laity.
