On the occasion of the canonization of Pope John Paul II, we publish an article by Professor Norbert Müller and Professor Karen Joisten.

 Norbert Müller is member of the Pontifical Council for the Laity and Professor Emeritus at the University of Mainz. Karen Joisten is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Kassel. Both are members of the Academic Council of the Church and Sport Committee of the German Bishops Conference.
